We conduct Soul Swing® dance classes with top-notch experience and professionalism in a fun, comfortable environment, under the direction of noted instructor, Dave Maxx. Each session focuses on mastering the fundamentals of the dance that allow you to develop your own style and enjoy dancing with the best in Steppin & Swing.

Soul Swing® is the urban, trendsetting alter-ego of Chicago Steppin, with a smooth groove guaranteed to make you want to dance! But this ain’t your parent’s steppin!!

Soul Swing® infuses couple dancing with a new energy, while promoting the upscale lifestyle and social interactions of Urban Professionals. It is the same dance format as Steppin, but definitively not the same dance scene! The Soul Swing® dance class blends Neo Soul, Jazz, Mellow House & Smooth Hip-Hop with nationally recognized instructors in a private studio setting.

Class Descriptions:

Level 100 Series /Beginners - 6:00-7:15pm...no dance exp. required
The Level 100 Series class is the introductory set to introduce the new student to primary
Steppin' concepts including - the basic step & its variations, primary turn patterns, exploring
the lane space, introductory partner concepts, and laying the foundation for unlocking the
dance experience. This foundation is laid without a "traditional" counting method to encourage

Level 200 Series / Intermediate - 7:15-8:30pm...previous dance exp. required
The Level 200 Series class builds on the concepts of the Level 100 class and introduces more
partner concepts, styling with footwork, developing combination turns, learning to control the
dance as well as training the dancer to "control themselves" with more intense drills, and fun
games! In this session, the student really learns the "rules" & "infrastructure" of the dance,

Leve 300 Series / Advanced - 8:30-9:45pm...previous dance exp. required
The Level 300 Series class is where students learn to develop their "style" as a dancer! It is
in this session where they really learn to "pull it all together", incorporating the various
drills & concepts to confidently craft a "dance experience". Footwork mix, Turn management,
Musical expression, Working with & through a partner, and all out performance of a song is the
